ASSET announces a new release of its ECM product, Jupiter 3.1

Logical Tree View
This feature allows for defining a personalized tree for every user or group of users of the system. Users can be given the access to define the tree view by themselves or can be assigned a tree view by one of the administrators. Using the tree designer, granted users can define the properties of every level in the tree. Also, the tree portlet became an integral part of the portal page. The Tree view increases the friendliness of Jupiter user interface and eases the entry, browsing and viewing of indexed data when compared to the flat view.

JSP Form Generator
The form generator allows for adding customization for the folder window so that company logos, backgrounds, images or custom application behavior can be added. This will enables organizations to personalize Jupiter forms using their own logos or calling their internal applications, performing additional data validations and many more.

WebDav Support
Webdav is a protocol that allows Jupiter folders and documents to be accessed directly from the windows explorer. Users can drag and drop objects directly into Jupiter repositories or open Jupiter documents directly on any Webdav aware application.

Veritas Backup and Restore Support
Previous versions of Jupiter provided a manual procedure for performing full backup and restore. Jupiter 3.1 fully supports Veritas Backup and Restore with both the full and incremental modes.

Oracle 10G Appserver, Database and Workflow Support
Jupiter now fully supports Oracle 10g, thus leveraging all the power of the grid architecture to our clients.

Session Management
In Jupiter 3.1, administrators can monitor the active sessions and is able to perform immediate termination of any or all of the active sessions.

Intelligent Form Processing
Intelligent form processing is an advanced software field that deals with capturing predefined locations in scanned documents and automatically assigns the OCR output of this area to form fields. Jupiter’s form processing module is embedded in the Jupiter Capture Client and is based on ICRA OCR engine. Jupiter intelligent form processing provides automatic alignment and shift operations for ensuring the most accurate recognition. By defining an appropriate Data Conversion cycle, the recognized output of the form processing can be revised and modified by the QA users.

Folder BookMarks
Bookmarks allow to link items to each others. Using Bookmarks, users can easily relate indexed items to each others. For example, assume that both Projects and Engineers info are stored in an implementation. Using bookmarks, it is easy to link projects to engineers so that one can know the engineers that worked in a specific project or the projects that a specific engineer worked in.

Unicode Support
Jupiter clients and servers will support working with Unicode Oracle databases. Therefore, all languages will be supported for data indexing and retrieval.

Directory Listener
The directory listener is an advanced importing tool that listens to specified directories and automatically import added folders and documents into Jupiter according to the specified mapping policy. Mapping the meta-data to Jupiter index class is available. For example, mapping between Metadata of office documents and document index data can be performed so that whenever a document is added on of the defined directories it is automatically indexed into Jupiter with its metadata.

Enhanced Record Management
More tight automatic integration between Jupiter Document Management and Jupiter Record Management is now available. Every Knowledge pool has its configuration settings that specify how indexed items will be transformed into records and record categories on which newly created records will be based.
